Longing for Outdoors

Posted in Uncategorized on August 28, 2009 by unclestevo

Here is a older shot that had to be posted.  First because it is so cute.  Second because it shows my kids trying to peer outside long before they could see out the window.  The love the outdoors and all the wonderful thing that one can see and do in the fresh air.  Today my kids will bring you any shoe they can find in hopes that it will lead to a trip outdoors.  And if you ask them if they would like to go outside, they will stop what ever it is that they are doing and go searching for their shoes.  If they cannot find their shoes, they will look at you like come on dad, hurry up, I know you know where my shoes are.  Lets get going.  It is really hard to say no at that point.  And really I can’t blame them I love the outdoors as well.

Cody – Looking Cool

Posted in Uncategorized on August 26, 2009 by unclestevo

I don’t know, maybe it is because he’s my son and I like fall football, but when I came across this photo I thought of football season.  He has his NW cap on with  fleece jacket, perfect to go watch a game.

Big Helper

Posted in Uncategorized on August 25, 2009 by unclestevo

A few weeks ago I was doing some work around the house which included washing the car.  The kids were outside playing in the yard when Joslyn decided to help out.  I got a picture and thought I should share.

Branson – Vis vacation

Posted in Uncategorized on August 25, 2009 by unclestevo

Well it has been a busy summer and I have not made it a priority to keep this blog up to date.  Hopefully that will change a little at least until harvest starts.  These first few pictures are of our first vacation down to Table Rock Lake, just outside of Branson MO.

A great time was had by all.  Below is all of Cody and Joslyn’s cousins sitting with Grandma and Grandpa Vis.

Here are a couple pictures of the kids first tube rides with mom behind the boat. Cody was really ready for a nap, but decided to enjoy the rocking of the water before turning it in for the afternoon.

Joslyn was a little more excited for the water, but stayed cautious through the ride, before showing her excitement.

Here the kids are letting everybody know that they had a great time on their first Branson trip of ‘09.

Stressed Beyond Belief

Posted in Uncategorized on June 16, 2009 by unclestevo

My boy has a rough life, and it shows when he sleeps.  He seems to be a little more comfortable than his sisters picture in the last post.   As a rule he is to be a little more laid back to his approach to life.  I think this photo shows that well.

Below is another common sleep position for the little man.  It doesn’t look as comfortable to me, but he seems to like it.

Restless Night

Posted in Uncategorized on June 7, 2009 by unclestevo

The other night before Julie and I went to bed we usually peak to check on the kids.  Cody was curled in a ball with his blanket which is fairly common.  The picture below shows what we saw when we looked over at Jolsyn.

You can also see on this picture that Joslyn likes to chew on the rail of her crib.

New Family Picture

We had to get our picture taken at church yesterday for the new photo book that is coming out for our church’s 125th anniversary.  Since we were all dressed up, we had a friend snap a new family photo for ourselves.

First Official Hair Cut

Posted in Uncategorized on May 23, 2009 by unclestevo

Well the time has come to get an official hair cut.  And somewhere in the process, I lost my little baby.  My 1 year old left the house and came back as a 2 year old.  I don’t know how that happens, and I have always been told that time flies, but this is faster than I expected.  First I will post a picture from Tulip Time, and then a couple of the hair cut.

Please if you see my 1 year old, I would be very excited to get him back.  I miss him terribly.

Tulip Time in Orange City

Posted in Uncategorized on May 23, 2009 by unclestevo

Last weekend was the official Tulip Festival here is Orange City. Like any good local mom, Julie bundled the kids up and took them down town for the festivities.  The kids really liked the drum sections of the bands.   They tried a the rides but weren’t so into those yet.  Maybe in a couple years.

On Saturday Julie joined up with some friends who also wanted to take in the one weekend a year were we do actually have traffic jams in our small town.

The kids did enjoy the pretty tulip beds that were in perfect bloom this year for the festival.

And I must report Cody has made it on the Orange City’s Most wanted list.  He decided that he wanted to give his mom a tulip to take home.  As the thoughtfulness was great, there is a well known ordinance here in Orange City about picking tulips.  It is a BIG NO NO.  Up to a $100 fine is caught picking one in the down town area.  Well fortunately the letter of the law was given a little grace and no one had break the piggy bank.

He was very excited when we told him he wouldn’t be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
